The Wild Great Beyond of Lettuce

I’m doing much better!

Since I left the hospital my abdominal pain is almost completely gone. I’m able to digest foods I haven’t been able to stomach in a decade. Salads are a regular part of my diet. The doors to the wild, great beyond have opened to me!

Mostly though I’m sticking to my 3-meal-a-day plan from a delivery service so I can keep my newfound freedom in check and lose some of my migraine pain medication weight. These are all low-carb, non-dairy (that’s vegan cheese you’re seeing), and proportioned within a daily calorie limit. I’ve lost five pounds since my highest weight.

But you know who wasn’t having a good week with their stomach?

This dude:

My poor little burrito bear was on a puke-a-thon all week. We racked up an $800 vet bill trying to figure out why it happened and how to treat it. In the end, much like his mother, the cause remains a mystery. His symptoms are also starting to improve though. Is there anything quite as pathetic as a lethargic, hungry poodle? So sad.

To further emphasize mercury in retrograde, the bottom panel of the front of my car fell out because I accidentally drove over a parking spot bumper. See husband trying to fix it with a shoelace and a paperclip (I am not joking) below:

When not ruining heavy machinery, I’ve been taking long walks in the park, finally getting my eyebrows waxed, and chasing after Happy with a roll of paper towels and broken dreams.

I’m thinking about doing a meet-up group for Dysautonomia/Gastroparesis patients locally—somewhere in Deerfield/Boca Raton/Delray. Any interest?

  1. I’m so glad you’re still feeling better! My stomach hasn’t been doing too hot lately, but I think it’s due to side effects of a medication that’s kind of supposed to be messing with my stomach. It’s not too awful (until right this second where it’s almost 2am and I’m stuck running to the restroom), but it’s not a good thing. I’m hopeful, however, that after this treatment I’ll also be able to start eating anything I want to again!

What program are you getting your meals through? I follow you on Instagram and they all look so tasty!
